What Is the Synaptril Dosage?

Quick answer

The Synaptril dosage is one capsule a day, as the label directs. A bottle holds 30 capsules, so it lasts 30 days. The label also says not to exceed the recommended dose. Taking two at once adds nothing the label supports, and a missed day should be skipped, not doubled.

What is the Synaptril dosage on the label?

The Synaptril dosage on the label reads: "As a dietary supplement, take one (1) capsule daily."

That is the whole instruction. It gives no time of day and no food rule, and it adds "Do not exceed recommended dose." The label is not meant for anyone under 18 or for pregnant or nursing mothers.

Can you take more than one Synaptril a day?

No. The label says not to exceed the recommended dose, and nothing supports taking two.

The 80 mg of magnesium is under the 350 mg a day upper limit for supplemental magnesium (NIH ODS, Magnesium), but that limit counts all supplements and medicines together. High doses commonly cause diarrhea and cramps (NIH ODS, Magnesium).

The other five ingredients carry their own cautions, such as blood sugar effects from alpha lipoic acid (MSKCC About Herbs, Alpha-Lipoic Acid) and rare liver injury linked to turmeric products (NIH LiverTox, Turmeric). Doubling only multiplies those. See Synaptril side effects.

What if you miss a Synaptril dose?

If you miss a day, take your next capsule at the usual time and carry on. Do not take two to catch up.

The label does not cover missed doses, so this follows from its "do not exceed" line. Nothing in the research we reviewed shows that a skipped day matters.

If you take warfarin, a diabetes medicine or an antibiotic, ask your pharmacist about timing. Keep taking prescribed medicine exactly as directed.

How much is in one Synaptril capsule?

One Synaptril capsule holds 80 mg of magnesium (19% DV) inside a 575 mg proprietary blend, and nothing else on the label has a printed amount.

Multiply by 30 and a bottle holds 2,400 mg of magnesium in total, spread across 30 days. Take two a day and the same bottle lasts 15 days, which also doubles the cost per day. That is arithmetic, not a reason to try it.

575 mg blend · magnesium glycinate about 567 mg · other five about 8 mg (GlobalRPH, Magnesium Glycinate)

Before the first capsule, run through this checklist:

  • Check that the safety seal is intact
  • Read the caution line on the left panel
  • Choose one daily anchor, such as breakfast
  • Write down the purchase date, since the 60-day guarantee counts from it

How many bottles cover your dose?

One bottle covers 30 days, so 3 bottles cover 90 days and 6 bottles cover 180.

Daily steps are on the how to take Synaptril page, and the full panel is on the supplement facts page.

FAQ01

Synaptril questions people ask

What is the right Synaptril dosage for older adults?

The label gives one dose for every adult: one capsule daily. It has no separate older-adult dose. Ask your doctor first if you take medicines or have a condition, as the label advises.

Can I split the Synaptril dosage into two halves?

The label gives no such option. The capsule is a sealed vegetable shell, and opening it spills a blend whose amounts are not printed. Take one whole capsule daily as directed.

Does the Synaptril dosage change with food?

No. The label sets one capsule daily with no food rule. Many people pair it with a meal to remember it or to ease stomach upset, but that is a habit, not an instruction.

How many Synaptril capsules come in the 6-bottle pack?

The 6-bottle pack holds 180 capsules, six bottles of 30. At one capsule a day that is 180 days (Synaptril sales page). The label dose does not change with pack size.
