What does one Synaptril serving contain?
One Synaptril serving is one capsule. It lists 80 mg of magnesium, 19% of the Daily Value, as magnesium glycinate from a 575 mg proprietary blend. The blend also holds alpha lipoic acid, butcher's broom root extract, L-carnitine, turmeric extract and coenzyme Q10.
How can I recognize a genuine Synaptril bottle?
A genuine bottle is white with a white cap, a blue dotted-brain logo, SYNAPTRIL in navy and a blue wave on the right edge. The front reads 30 capsules and dietary supplement, and the back names Gluco Elixir of Aurora, Colorado, as distributor.
What are the three claims printed on the Synaptril front panel?
The front panel says "Advanced Brain Support*", "Enhances Memory & Focus*" and "Boosts Mental Energy*". Each asterisk points to the FDA statement on the back: the claims have not been evaluated by FDA, and the capsule is not meant to diagnose, treat or prevent disease.
Why does the Synaptril label show 19% DV for magnesium?
The Daily Value for magnesium on labels is 420 mg, and 80 mg is about 19% of that. The figure counts only the magnesium itself, not the glycinate it is bound to, which is why the blend weight is much larger (NIH ODS, Magnesium).
Is the Synaptril capsule shell suitable for vegetarians?
The shell is hypromellose, a plant-based material, and no gelatin is listed. The label does not say where the magnesium stearate and stearic acid come from, so strict vegetarians or vegans may want to ask the order desk before buying.
Who is named on the Synaptril bottle, and who makes it?
The label names Gluco Elixir, Aurora, CO 80011, as the distributor, with phone +1 (323) 348-1373 and [email protected]. It does not name the manufacturer, the factory or the country where the capsules are made.

What is in the Synaptril blend, and how much?
The Synaptril blend holds six ingredients in 575 mg, listed from most to least by weight. Only magnesium has a printed amount, so the rest can be worked out only as ceilings.
Magnesium glycinate is about 14% magnesium (GlobalRPH, Magnesium Glycinate). Delivering 80 mg of magnesium takes roughly 567 mg of it, which leaves about 8 mg for the other five. With a richer grade, the five would share at most about 175 mg.
Why is magnesium glycinate listed first in the Synaptril blend?
Blend ingredients must be listed from most to least by weight (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement Facts). Magnesium glycinate is first because it is the largest share: about 567 mg is needed to deliver the 80 mg of magnesium, which is nearly the whole 575 mg blend.
How much alpha lipoic acid can a Synaptril capsule hold?
At most about 175 mg, and likely much less. That ceiling assumes a rich grade of magnesium glycinate. Human studies of alpha lipoic acid used roughly 200 to 1,800 mg a day, and the small Alzheimer's studies used 600 mg (Linus Pauling Institute, Lipoic Acid).
Why would a brain formula like Synaptril include butcher's broom?
The label does not say. In Europe, butcher's broom root is a traditional herbal remedy for heavy legs and hemorrhoid itching, for adults only (EMA, Rusci rhizoma (butcher's broom)). We found no research on it for memory, focus or the brain.
Is the carnitine in Synaptril the acetyl form used in memory research?
No. The label lists plain L-carnitine. The memory trials used acetyl-L-carnitine at about 1.5 to 3 grams a day, and even then a Cochrane review found no case for routine use (Cochrane, Acetyl-L-carnitine for dementia). A Synaptril capsule holds at most about 58 mg.
Does the Synaptril turmeric come with black pepper extract?
No piperine or black pepper extract is listed. Curcumin on its own is poorly absorbed (Anand et al., Mol Pharm 2007). The label specifies a 95% curcuminoid extract, and line five of the blend can hold at most about 44 mg.
What form of CoQ10 is in Synaptril, and how much?
The label lists coenzyme Q10 as ubiquinone, in last place in the blend. That puts it at most around 35 mg. Heart trials used 30 to 300 mg a day, and under 5% of an oral dose is thought to reach the blood (Linus Pauling Institute, Coenzyme Q10).
Are Rhodiola or phosphatidylserine in Synaptril?
No. Some third-party articles list Rhodiola or phosphatidylserine, but neither appears on the Synaptril label. The six blend ingredients are magnesium glycinate, alpha lipoic acid, butcher's broom, L-carnitine, turmeric extract and coenzyme Q10. Trust the bottle over any article.

How do you fit Synaptril into a normal day?
Fit Synaptril into your day by tying the one capsule to something you already do, such as breakfast. The label sets the dose but leaves the timing to you.
The answers below cover timing, food, missed days and storage. None of them changes the rule printed on the bottle: one capsule daily, and no more.
Is Synaptril better taken in the morning or at night?
The label gives no time. Most people choose a fixed anchor such as breakfast so they do not forget. Coenzyme Q10 can disturb sleep in some people (NCCIH, Coenzyme Q10), so if you notice that, a morning capsule is a sensible switch.
Can I open a Synaptril capsule and stir it into food?
The label does not cover opening capsules; it says to take one capsule daily. If you have trouble swallowing, ask a pharmacist before you open one, since the contents have not been tested for taste or mixing in food.
What should I do after missing a day of Synaptril?
Take your usual single capsule the next day and carry on. Do not take two to catch up: the label says not to exceed the recommended dose. One missed day makes little difference to a 30-day bottle.
Does Synaptril need to be taken with a meal?
The label sets no food rule. Taking it with a meal is reasonable: CoQ10 is absorbed best with fat (Linus Pauling Institute, Coenzyme Q10), and food can ease the mild stomach upset some people get from magnesium or turmeric.
How should Synaptril be stored in hot weather?
Keep it below 30°C (86°F) in a cool, dry place, as the label says. Do not leave the bottle in a parked car or a steamy bathroom. Keep the cap tight and the bottle out of reach of children.
How long should I try Synaptril before deciding?
No trial has set a timeline for the capsule. The practical limit is the guarantee: 60 days from purchase. Note any changes in sleep, focus or stomach, and decide by about day 50 so a return still fits inside the window.

Is Synaptril safe with medicines and health conditions?
Synaptril is not a fit for everyone. The label rules out anyone under 18 and pregnant or nursing mothers, and asks anyone on medication or with a medical condition to see a physician first.
Three ingredient flags matter most: magnesium with some antibiotics and bone drugs (NIH ODS, Magnesium), alpha lipoic acid with diabetes medicines (Linus Pauling Institute, Lipoic Acid), and coenzyme Q10 with warfarin (Linus Pauling Institute, Coenzyme Q10).
Never stop or change a prescribed dose because you started a supplement. Sudden confusion, slurred speech, face drooping or weakness on one side means call 911.
Can I take Synaptril with metformin or insulin?
Ask your doctor first. Alpha lipoic acid may lower blood sugar further in people on diabetes medicines, so glucose may need closer checks (Linus Pauling Institute, Lipoic Acid). Keep taking metformin or insulin exactly as prescribed, whatever you decide.
How far apart should Synaptril and an antibiotic be taken?
Magnesium binds tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics. The usual advice is to take the antibiotic at least 2 hours before or 4 to 6 hours after a magnesium product (NIH ODS, Magnesium). Ask your pharmacist to set the timing for your prescription.
Can Synaptril cause loose stools?
It can, though 80 mg of magnesium is well below the 350 mg daily upper limit from supplements, where diarrhea becomes more common (NIH ODS, Magnesium). Adding other magnesium products, such as antacids or laxatives, pushes the total up.
Can students under 18 take Synaptril for exams?
No. The label says Synaptril is not for anyone under the age of 18. Under-18s should talk to a parent and a doctor about focus or memory worries, and sleep is a better-tested place to start: even adults need 7 or more hours a night (CDC, Sleep).
Is Synaptril safe while trying to get pregnant?
Ask your doctor. The label rules out pregnant and nursing mothers, and turmeric supplements may be unsafe in pregnancy (NCCIH, Turmeric). Bring the bottle so your doctor can read every ingredient.
Can Synaptril stand in for a memory medicine my doctor prescribed?
No. Synaptril is a dietary supplement, not a treatment for memory loss or dementia. Never stop or lower a prescribed medicine because you started a supplement; talk to the prescriber about any change.
What liver warning applies to the turmeric in Synaptril?
Turmeric products have rarely been linked to liver injury, mostly high-absorption curcumin forms (NIH LiverTox, Turmeric). Stop and call a doctor if you notice dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or unusual tiredness.
Should I pause Synaptril before surgery?
